Manuela Weber graduated with a M. A. (Magister) in science of education as major subject and sociology and philosophy as minor subjects at the Technische Universität Berlin. Besides her studies she worked as research assistent in a wide range of educational, social and psychological research fields (school and teaching, public health, pedagogy in early childhood). Her major skills are quantitative data collection and data analysis with social-science methods in interdisciplinary research.

Fields of interest

• quantitative data collection and data analysis with social-science methods in interdisciplinary research;
• data collection: constructing web-based and paper-pencil surveys (defining content, wording, structure, scaling)
• statistical data analysis: testing hypotheses with parametric or non-parametric procedueres using SPSS
• teacher education in work studies
• empirical research in education: classroom management and its value for a positive student teacher relationship; teacher burnout.

2016 - 2017: research assistent at nexus Institute for Cooperation Management and Interdisciplinary Research, assistance in the following projects: concept development of a  standardized users monitoring for Berliner green spaces; Investigation of civil acceptance and participation of communal controlled energie transition in Barnim county; LowExTra: low-exergy trays for storing and distributing heat; Innovative public transport access systems (VERkehrszugangsSysteme, VERS) involving users perspective and participation

2011 - 2013: student assistent at Freie Universität Berlin, Division of Public Health (Prof. Dr. Dieter Kleiber), project: „Gesundheit im Studium – GiS“

2008 - 2010: student assistent at Freie Universität Berlin, Division of School and Teaching Research (Prof. Dr. Bettina Hannover), project: “Gender-specific social relationships as determinants of early educational processes: A Berlin Longitudinal Study on the influence of attachment to educators and primary school teachers on the educational careers of girls and boys” funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) 

2008: internship at The Institute for Educational Quality Improvement (IQB), main task: organisation of the advanced training course „Working with Large Scale Assessment Data“ in cooperation with the International Organisation for the Evaluation of Achievement (IEA)

2007 - 2008: student assistent at Freie Universität Berlin, Division of Pedagogy in Early Childhood (Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Tietze) project: „TransKiGs“ (Stärkung der Bildungs- und Erziehungsqualität in Kindertageseinrichtungen und Grundschule - Gestaltung des Übergangs)
