Short Introduction/Resume
Robin Kellermann graduated with a B.A. in Cultural Studies from OvGU Magdeburg and a M.A. in Historical Urban Studies from Technische Universität Berlin. His research focuses on historical and contemporary examinations of urban transport and mobility with special emphasis on cultural perceptions, representations, and socio-technical co-evolutions.
In his PhD, he works on the cultural history of waiting in the context of public transportation by retracing the co-evolution of physical waiting environments and social practices at 19th and early 20th century train stations (submitted June 2020, PhD defense 30 September 2020).
Since November 2012 he is working as a lecturer and research associate at IBBA (TU Berlin). He worked in different European and German research projects on the future of transport industries and the role of user participation in public transport planning. Currently, he is coordinator of the project "The Sky is the Limit - Future utilisation of urban airspace", an explorative research project on risks and opportunities of drones as means for urban logistics and transportation.
He is an appointed member of the Executive Committee of the International Association for the History of Transport, Traffic and Mobility (T2M) and book review editor of the Journal for Transport History (JTH).
Since May 2015, he is a DFG Associate Fellow at the International Graduate Research Program “Berlin – New York – Toronto” at the Center for Metropolitan Studies, TU Berlin.
