Short Introduction/Resume
Robert Richter was born in 1983 in Berlin. From 2003 to 2009 he studied physics at the TU Berlin where he already started teaching laboratory courses in 2006. In 2010 he started as a research scientist with teaching duties in the institute for optics and atomic physics (TU Berlin). His research focused on spectroscopy and molecular physics while he taught Project based laboratory courses for the undergraduates and advanced laboratory courses for postgraduate students. In 2014 he became the head of the “Projektlabor” an innovative undergraduate physics laboratory course a position he held till he made his PhD in physics on the photoluminescence Nanodiamonds. In 2016 he was asked to establish and lead the “Naturkunde Media Lab” at the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin (Natural History Museum Berlin). As chief scientist he overviewd the collaboration between the museum and start ups using the the museums cultural heritage and scientific data.
Still during his PhD he co-founded the “experimental stage project” a project/community devoted to communicating science through an artistic approach. This concept is also basis of lab:present the science communication course he is currently giving at the TU Berlin.
